Brief History
- The Club was first formed in 1883.
- Date of Affiliation – unknown.
- The club belongs to the Geelong Bowls Region.
- The first President was Cr Thos Atkins.
- The first Secretary was Mr George Stokesbury.
- The first Treasurer was Mr GW Drosten.
- The Queenscliff Bowling Club was first established in 1883 in a very humble way with one green with only three rinks.
- It is one of the earliest clubs established in seaside and holiday resorts with the aim of catering for the pleasure, recreation and entertainment of holiday makers as well as local residents.
- The efforts over the years to improve the Club’s facilities continues to be an important part of the Club’s philosophy.
- The first tennis court was established in 1885. In the early 1970’s, five purpose built tennis courts were shared with the netball club. The introduction of croquet to the club was established in 1920.
- Over the years the clubhouse and facilities have grown and have continued to provide for visitors and locals.
