Queenscliff Bowls offers coaching with a qualified and accredited coach and operates mentoring services for all members.
Coaching
Steve Sullivan is the Queenscliff Bowls Club Coach. Steve is recognised throughout the bowling community for his extensive bowling experience, talent and coaching capability and plays in Queenscliff Premiers Pennant team. Steve conducts bowls drills at Pennant Practice each Monday and Thursday afternoon in the Pennant season and is only too happy to help if you like one on one coaching assistance from him.
Mentoring
Queenscliff also offers mentoring by highly experienced senior bowlers drawn from across the Club.
Mentoring includes advice on:
- Bowls rules
- Bowls etiquette and protocols
- Roles of Skip, 3rd, 2nd and Lead positions
- Roles of Managers of Pennant Divisions
- Scoring, measuring and role of umpires
- Types of matches (e.g. Pairs, Triples etc)
- Match Strategy
- Club, Regional & State bowls tournaments, Pennant
- Competition/Divisions and how to participate
- Key skill techniques, practice drills, individual strategies and other bowling essentials.
- Rolling the Jack effectively
- Club committees
- Social bowls, off season and other social activities
- Where to find key club information
